The joke around here is that I spend more time organizing than working in my studio...lately I have been craving blank spaces. I found this lovely vintage industrial bread pan at a local seattle flea market and originally thought I would use it to plant and display, but as I was talking with the vendor she said she used it for all her rubber stamps and I thought to myself...maybe this would be great in the old studio to gather up all those markers, pencils, crayons etc.
I was then on the hunt for a vintage rolling tray to store ongoing projects that I could roll out of the way and keep my main table clear. I had seen several in the past, but not just the right one. You know when you are looking for something it is hard to find.
I had to miss the opening at the last market due to the new soccer season due to an early soccer game, but decided to go anyway in hopes that no one else was looking for one or that something was left that might work. Usually the good stuff is gone in the first few hours...but to my surprise I found a rolling tray in my favorite color...could not believe it. So there you have it...a few new things to clutter..I mean organize my space.
I am busy getting ready to teach at Art & Soul in Portland...so my studio will be a disaster again, but at least I have my new organizing solutions ready.
What is your favorite organizing object or tip?
