I am doing a 52 week class with Kim Klassen called Beyond the Layers. So today I have been revisiting photos from my summer in Paris on this snowy winter day and adding some textures. You should definitely check out Kim's classes. Her Skinny Mini is free and a great introduction to the world of Photoshop.
I have been mulling over words...thinking about my word for the year and it is persevere...to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly. Although this is my word for 2012 I always come back to my favorites...believe, dream, hope, faith. So I made a bracelet and necklace recently to represent my favorites.

I had 15 minutes before I had to pick up my daughter from piano and made quick dash to grab camera and catch some light before it faded. I managed to grab a shot that I like capturing the moment...
I am taking an online course with Vivienne McMasters and feeling like I just can't fit it all in, but then today I just thought I just have to show up and do the work and not wait for the perfect amount of time. I can snap a couple shots in 15 minutes. It can be so hard to fit the things we love into our busy lives, but we just have to show up and do it when we can with the time we have.
Wet and rainy here today, but I may be heading to sunny Arizona this weekend for a little sunshine.
I will be teaching a PMC charm bracelet in Portland at Art & Soul Retreat on 10/3. They have a fun selection of classes...so check out there website.
Here is a little necklace made from some of my favorite Paris vintage finds, a few vintage beads from various locations, and new gemstones...the frayed ribbon is actually recycled silk sari ribbon. I love the texture it adds.
I was able to get to the Barn House flea market this weekend and each booth was a delight. A truly inspirational event and found a few cool items for organizing the old studio. I'll have to take a picture of my new bun pan...great for sorting jewelry projects.
I would like to introduce you to my knitter girl. She just opened her own Etsy shop - Wayward Dandelion Designs where you can find darling dog sweaters and hats.
You will often find her with project in hand...on the bus, in the car, watching TV. I am amazed at her creativity. My favorite project is the Ron (from Harry Potter) doll she created for a good friend's birthday. She sketched and then created the pattern...amazing!
She is an amazing artist in many respects...remaking t-shirts with vintage ribbon and flowers, creating dolls with scraps and of course jewelry. So do a mom a favor and check out her Etsy shop. She is always thrilled when someone makes her a favorite.
